Paid On-The-Job Training
The five year program of study includes a minimum of 8200 hours of on- the-job training. You will work in the field with many skilled journeymen who will teach you the skills of working with tools and material to complete the electrical job at hand. You will work in a variety of locations and situations as described in the section Inside Construction Electrician. The apprenticeship committee will give you job training assignments with various electrical Contractors to afford you a well rounded experience on the job. Most of these assignments will be for a 40 hour a week job. Overtime may be a possibility from time to time.
The Local Jurisdiction in this area covers 13 counties so you might be required to travel up to 1 1/2 hours to get to your job training assignment, reliable transportation is a must.
Attendance on the job is also as important as it is for related instruction. Your contractor depends on you to be on the job, on time, and when scheduled.
